The printer sits just under the copyboard as illustrated in the picture below using a thermal recording film which needs replacing when it runs out.
Most copyboards have a PC link kit that allows them to be connected to computers. The Kit includes cables and computer software. This works by loading the copyboard software onto the computer. The copyboard then connects into one of the computer serial ports with the cable supplied.
Everything that is written on the board can then be transferred onto the computer as images which can be printed, saved, changed, faxed and emailed all over the world.
Most copyboards sold in the UK are Manufactured by Panasonic or PLUS.

Panasonic Copyboards have a built-in Printer which prints in black.

PLUS Copyboards offer the option to use a compatible Colour printer, which sits underneath the board on a platform supplied with the board. You can also save all the data written on the board onto a USB stick and then download information to your PC like you will do with your digital camera.
